Outdoor Exercises
Just to ensure you are getting the most of the last of the sun this year, we thought we'd compile some outdoor exercises, which are great for this time of year. Why not give them all a try and see which suits you best?
Hiking
A walk can improve your mood, health and ensure you are getting that much needed Vitamin D. It's a great way to encourage heart health, reducing the risk of heart disease. It's also a great way to burn calories and lose weight, tone up, lower blood pressure, and can be done anywhere, any time of day. Enjoy the local walks around you, and even take those hiking boots for a weekend away to take n the scenery near and far.
Yoga
As a yogi at heart, I think yoga is a wonderful practice all year round, however there is something especially beautiful about sunset yoga outside, during this time of year. Enjoy the peace and beauty of the great outdoors during your yoga practice. Yoga can be practised alone, with friends or at a public class, so find your perfect and enjoy your routine.
Kayaking
While the weather is still warm enough, why not take to a local lake or river and try some kayaking or canoeing. These sports are a great way to reduce stress and have fun too. For beginners, this time of year is great, because places are always far less crowded for you to increase your confidence. Build and tone muscles in your upper body, as well as increasing your core strength.
Cycling
Beautiful views, cooler temperatures, great track options...Autumn was made for cycling. Whether you choose to mountain bike or park and road riding, cycling is a great way to get from A to B whilst improving your fitness.
The options available for outdoor workouts at this time of year are literally endless, so find something that you enjoy and get involved. You can include friends and family too. Being outside can improve your mood and well being, so keep out of that gym a little longer if you can, and enjoy the fresh air and excitement of the outdoors.
